Starloom Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2, 2026
Starloom is a daily wellness and intention-setting app. Each day it weaves your mood, your goals, and your personal blueprint into one meaningful reflection across six areas of your life, then invites you to journal what resonated. This policy explains, plainly and honestly, what Starloom does and does not do with your information.
The short version: Starloom has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it does not access your device's location. Your blueprint, your reflections, and your journal are stored on your device. To compose each reflection, the details you provide are sent over a secure connection to our own service, which uses AI to generate the text and send it back. We do not store that data after the reflection is returned, we do not sell your information, and we do not use it to track you.
Who we are
Starloom is published by Lanternary (the "developer," "we," "us"). The app's bundle identifier is com.lanternary.starloom.
If you have a privacy question, contact us at [email protected].
What information Starloom collects
To personalize your daily reflection, Starloom asks you to create a private blueprint. This may include:
- Name (required)
- Date of birth (required)
- Birth time (optional)
- Birth location (optional, a place you type and select from suggestions)
- MBTI personality type (optional)
- Blood type (optional)
As you use the app, Starloom also keeps, on your device:
- Your daily mood and intention check-in
- Your daily reflections
- Your journal entries
Your device's current time zone is used to determine "today" so each day's reflection is fresh.
Starloom does not collect or store persistent identifiers, a device ID, or your IP address. There is no account system, so you never create a username, password, or server profile.
Where your information is stored
Your blueprint, your check-ins, your daily reflections, and your journal entries are stored on your device (the app's standard on-device storage, AsyncStorage). We keep no server-side copy and operate no account system or user database that holds them. There is no cloud backup of your data by Starloom.
You can erase this on-device data at any time (see "Data deletion" below).
How your information is used, and who receives it
Starloom sends data off your device only to provide its features, always over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
1. Composing your daily reflection. When Starloom weaves a reflection (once per day, or when you pull to refresh), it sends to our own service, a Cloudflare Worker we operate at starloom.lanternary.com: your name, date of birth, your device's current time zone, your mood and intention check-in for the day, and any optional birth time, birth location (place name, coordinates, and time zone), MBTI, and blood type. The Worker uses Cloudflare's AI platform (Workers AI) to compose the text and returns it. Our Worker processes the request in the moment and does not store, log, or retain your details, your check-in, or your reflection after the response is returned.
Your journal entries are never sent off your device. They are used only by you, on your device.
2. Birth-location search. When you type a birth location, the app sends that text, through our Worker, to Photon, a geocoding service operated by komoot that uses OpenStreetMap data, to return matching places. You select one, and its place name, coordinates, and time zone are saved on your device.
The companies that process your data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (our Worker and the AI that composes your reflection): https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- komoot (the Photon geocoder) and OpenStreetMap (the underlying place data), used only for birth-location search: https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
Starloom does not access your device's location. There is no GPS or Core Location use and no location permission prompt. "Birth location" is an optional free-text field you type and select, used only to personalize your reflection.
Your details are used only to provide these features. They are not used to show you ads, not used to track you, and never sold.
What Starloom does NOT do
To be unambiguous, Starloom does not:
- Have user accounts, logins, or profiles on any server
- Use analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting, or usage-tracking SDKs
- Show advertising or include any advertising SDKs
- Sell, rent, or share your information for anyone else's marketing
- Track you across apps or websites
- Access your device's location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- Request any device permissions or show an App Tracking Transparency prompt
Data storage and security
Your information is stored on your device using standard iOS on-device storage, and every request to our service (including birth-location search) is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but Starloom is deliberately designed to minimize what is shared: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no device-location access, and no server-side copy of your blueprint, your check-ins, your reflections, or your journal.
Data deletion
You are always in control of your information, and you can remove all of it at any time:
- Clear your data in the app: on the Cosmos tab, tap Clear profile to permanently erase your blueprint, your check-ins, your cached reflections, and your journal entries from the device. This is immediate.
- Delete everything by uninstalling Starloom, which removes all of the above from the device.
Because Starloom has no account and we keep no server-side copy of your information, there is nothing on our side for you to delete.
Children's privacy
Starloom is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has entered personal information into the app, you can clear it in the app (Cosmos tab, then "Clear profile") or uninstall the app to remove all on-device data. You may also contact us at [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Effective date" above and post the revised version at this URL. Material changes may also be noted in the app or its store listing. Your continued use of Starloom after an update means you accept the revised policy.
